Shattered your iPhone 6 screen? Don’t worry, you can become a DIYer with these repair tools. Sure, we need to review the repair steps one by one when we give a brief introduction to these essential tools.
A Pentalobe Screwdriver is the must-have tool for the first disassembling step. Remove the Pentalobe screws at the bottom of iPhone 6 with it. Of course, before this step, you need to power off the mobile phone.
Then it comes to opening the front panel. This is one of the most difficult step for your repair. The inside flex cables may get damaged if you operate it carelessly. So, a practical but safe tool is required. Hytparts recommends a user-friendly repair tool for this step. It is an Suction Cup Clamp which can be used to separate front panel from rear case easily and securely.
It is designed to meet the ergonomic feature. It comes with double replaceable suction cups which can be used as pump to lift the LCD screen. The pliers are quite easy to use. You just need to close the handles on the clamp, opening the suction cup jaws; Place the bottom of your iPhone in between the suction cups (Please noted here: position the clamp’s upper suction cups against the display, near the home button). Then open the handles to close the jaws of the clamp. Center the suction cups and press them firmly onto the top and bottom of the iPhone. At last, hold onto your iPhone securely and close the handles of the clamp to separate the suction cups, pulling the front panel up from the rear case. If you do not need the professional repair tool, the light duty Suction Cup Opening Tool also works.
Now, you can see several clips along the top edge of the front panel form a partial hinge, allowing the front panel assembly to swing open like a book. Phillips Screwdriver for iPhone 6 is needed here to remove the five Phillips screws securing the front panel assembly cable bracket.
Next, you need to remove the front panel assembly cable bracket from the logic board. Here, you may need Tweezers.
Then the task is to disconnect front-facing camera, sensor cable connector and home button cable connector. An Anti-static Spudger would be a smart choice for disconnection. At last, you remove the front panel assembly from the rear case successfully.
