iPhone 6 plus meet an acciddent and get cracked or shattered, then you need a new lcd screen with digitizer assembly to replace the old one. This repair guide tell you how to make it, and during the processes what you should notice to avoid damages, only 15 steps.
First, let’s go to see how many cell phone repair tools we should prepare for.
iSclack or Plastic single suction cup opening tool
Plastic pry opening tool

Now, let’s go.
Step 1. We’d better power off our iPhone 6 plus first.
Stop 2. Then find the tow pentable screws at the buttom of the iPhone 6 plus, which next to the Lightning connector.
Step 3. Use the special double suction cups opening tool to open the iPhone 6 safely.
The special double suction cups opening tool-iSclack opening procedure:
1) Close the handle on the iSclack, opening the suction-cup jaws, and place the bottom of your iPhone in between the suction cups.
2) Hold onto your iPhone securely and close the handle of the iSclack to separate the suction cups, pulling the front panel up from the rear case.
3) Take down the suction cup from the lcd screen, then you’ve opened the screen assembly from rear case.
Pre: if use the iSclack, you can safely open your iPhone enough to separate the pieces, but not enough to damage any of the display cables. And you can ignore the following steps until to the step 7. Surely, if you don’t have a iSclack, you can also use the single plastic suction cup opening tool, like following steps.
Step 4. Press a suction cup onto the screen, just above the home button, then pressed securely onto the screen to get a tight seal.
Step 5. Pry the screen assembly gently, and use a plastic opening tool seperate the rear case from lcd screen with digitizer assembly in a proper distance.
Note: there are several clips attaching the front panel assembly to the rear case, so you may need to use a combination of the suction cup and plastic opening tool to free the front panel assembly. That’s why leave some room in a proper distance when separate the raer case from screen aseembly.
Step 6. Remove the plastic single suction cup opening tool from screen assembly.
Step 7. Pull the home button end of the front panel assembly and keep it supported at a 90º angle in relation to the rear case.
Note: before you remove the front screen panel, you should keep it supported at a 90º angle, because there are several cables connecting the rear housing.
Step 8. Remove the following screws securing the front panel assembly cable bracket, and take down the front panel assembly cable bracket from the logic board
Three 1.2 mm Phillips #000 screws(Red mark)
One 1.5 mm Phillips #000 screw(Orange mark)
One 2.9 mm Phillips #000 screw(Yellow mark)
Step 9. Disconnect these cable connectors from the rear housing with the plastic pry opening tool.
The front-facing camera and earpiece speaker cable connector:
The home button cable connector:
The digitizer cable connector:
The display data cable connector:
Note: When reassembling your phone, the display data cable may pop off the connector. This can result in white lines or a blank screen when powering your phone back on. If that happens, simply reconnect the cable and power cycle your phone. The best way to power cycle your phone is to disconnect and reconnect the battery connector.
Step 11. Remove the front lcd screen panel assembly from back housing.
In general, if your iPhone 6 plus lcd screen was cracked or shattered, the home button have the Touch ID function, which will ONLY work with your phone’s original home button assembly, so you’ll need to transfer the home button assembly from your old display assembly to your new display assembly to retain Touch ID. Then you may need next steps.
Step 12. Remove the two screws(marked in the following picture) securing the home button bracket to the front panel, then take down the home button bracket from the front panel assembly.
1.8 mm Phillips #000 screws(Red mark)
Step 13. Use the tip of a spudger to disconnect the home button connector from its socket, and wedge the tip of a spudger underneath the home button connector cable carefully.
Note: there is still adhesive securing home button connector cable to the front panel assembly, so you need separate them gently.
Step 14. Remove the home button assembly from the front panel assembly.
Note: When you do the home button connector removing, you don’t remove directly. First, you should use your fingertip to push it out of the front panel in a proper distance (shown in the following picture).
Then use the tip end of spudger to lift it up gently, finally you can remove the home button assembly away from the front panel assembly.
Step 15. you’ve torn down the lcd screen with digitizer assembly for iPhone 6 plus.
Use a new replacement screen assembly to replace the old or cracked one, and reinstall all the parts you tear down before in return.
Note: please gently deal with all the parts to avoid damages, and keep all parts right and stead in the original place.
